The Hellenic Institute of RECBT offers a complete series of training programs for mental health professionals and related specialties working with Children, Adolescents, Parents, and Educators.

Programs include:

All programs are certified by the Albert Ellis Institute (USA).

Training in RECBT

Rational-Emotive & Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (RECBT), founded by Dr. Albert Ellis (1955), is one of the most well-documented and effective cognitive-behavioral therapies for children, adolescents, parents, and educators.

Our programs are based on:

The Institute is a Certified Partner of the Albert Ellis Institute (New York, USA), which is recognized by:

Structure of Training Programs

1. Basic Certification Program (280 hours)

Content

  • RECBT theory & practice for emotional and behavioral difficulties
  • Therapeutic alliance with children & adolescents
  • Diagnosis based on the A-B-C model
  • Therapeutic strategies, goals & homework assignments
  • Prevention & psychoeducation in school and community settings
  • Role-plays, simulations, video demonstrations

Participation Requirements

  • Degree in mental health or related field
  • Postgraduate specialization preferred
  • Teachers (general & special education) working with children/adolescents

Completion Requirements

  • 90% attendance
  • Written & oral examinations
  • Literature review & written work
  • 30 hours of mandatory personal therapy
  • Cost: €1700/year or €170/month (October–June)

2. Advanced Certification Program (280 hours)

After completing the Basic Program, participants receive advanced clinical training.

Content

  • Advanced RECBT for complex disorders
  • Work with parents, educators, and healthcare professionals
  • Advanced cognitive-behavioral change strategies
  • Group psychotherapy
  • Resilience in youth
  • ADHD, learning difficulties, oppositional defiant disorder

Research Work

  • Development of full research proposal
  • Progress reviews within the Institute

Completion Requirements

  • 90% attendance
  • Exams
  • Submission of research proposal
  • Cost: €1700/year or €170/month (October–June)

3. Supervision Certification Program (Two Years)

The highest level of specialization in RECBT for children & adolescents.

Content

  • Real therapy sessions under supervision
  • Co-therapy in group interventions
  • Participation in research and workshops
  • Clinical work with children, adolescents, parents & educators

Upon completion, participants may apply for accreditation as:
