About the Hellenic Institute for RECBT

In 2003, following her professional psychotherapy training and having received supervisory certificate training at the Albert Ellis Institute in New York, Dr. Chrysoula Kostogiannis founded the Hellenic Institute for RECBT to honor the philosophical roots of the approach and to establish the RECBT approach within the field of mental health in Greece. Since then, she has trained and supervised hundreds of mental health and other related professionals in RECBT in Greece and abroad.  The Hellenic Institute for RECBT offers accredited training programs in collaboration with the Albert Ellis Institute, including Professional Primary & Advanced Certificate Practica Training and Associate Fellowship Practica Certificate Training in Rational-Emotive & Cognitive-Behavior Therapy for professionals working with Adults and Children/Adolescents. In addition, the Hellenic Institute offers other intensive and brief RECBT training, such as Rational-Emotive Behavior Coaching Training. Recently, the Hellenic Institute for RECBT provides professional training programs on-site (e.g., schools, businesses, hospitals) live and remotely. The Hellenic Institute for RECBT is A Preferred Partner and the only Albert Ellis Accredited Training Institute in Greece.
All psychologists and psychotherapists collaborating with the Hellenic Institute for RECBT have completed rigorous 4-year Psychotherapy Training in RECBT, including Professional Primary & Advanced Certificate Practica Training and Associate Fellowship Practica Certificate Training and are accredited by the Hellenic Institute for RECBT and the Albert Ellis Institute. In addition, many of our collaborating professionals have earned postgraduate and doctoral degrees in their areas of expertise and follow professional education in their fields as well as required ongoing continuing training in RECBT to maintain their accreditation status.
